Our Jackson County Girls Inc. recently announced that two of its teen members have been selected for Girls Inc. National Scholarships. The scholarships were in the amounts of $15,000 and $2500.
This is not only an honor but a rarity with local Girls Inc. facilities. However, Jackson County Girls Inc. has been rewarded over the years with numerous National Scholars.
Congratulations to this year’s recipients!

Congratulations to the Brownstown Braves Basketball team on their amazing season. The Braves went all the way to the State Finals in Indianapolis.

It’s that time of year again!! March Madness is finally here!!  This past Sunday, the NCAA selection committee announced the 64 teams (and one “play-in”) that will be invited to participate in the “Big Dance”.  You can obtain your own printable bracket at: http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/mayhem/brackets/viewable_men
Last year, MEP’s own Susan Sparks came out on top, edging out Steve Robison, to take home the prestigious title of “2008 – Office Pool Champion”.  We’ll know in a few weeks if she was able to make it two in a row!  The 64-team tourney begins …

A lot of divorce clients have mentioned the movie “Fireproof,” a Christian film which documents a couple struggling with whether to divorce.  Regardless of your religious faith, “Fireproof” teaches the universal lessons that the decision to divorce should never be taken lightly and that the divorce process is highly emotional.  “Fireproof” is an excellent resource for those contemplating or going through a divorce.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium is located off Dixie Highway in Louisville, Kentucky.  It was opened in the 1920s as a tuberculosis hospital and closed its doors in the early 1960s.  During the 40 years Waverly Hills was operational, it is estimated as many as 63,000 people may have died there.  Waverly has been investigated by several paranormal experts and is said to be haunted!   The building has been purchased and is now open for tours.  All tour proceeds go toward renovating the building into a 5 star haunted hotel!  Take advantage …
