Whitney Tormoehlen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tormoehlen, was recently crowned 2009 Jackson County Fair Queen! Twenty-six contestants took part in the competition on opening night of the fair. Second runner-up was Megan Boger, while Caitlin Mills was named First runner-up for the second year in a row.

A recent article in Res Gestae highlights the detrimental effects parental conflict has on children and outlines several “immutable” principles of separation and divorce. Three of those principles are especially applicable when conflict arises over scheduling summer and holiday parenting time. First, conflict between parents injures children. Second, litigation overwhelmingly tends to expand parental conflict. Third, children’s best interests depend on cooperative parenting, and this dependence only grows with separation or divorce.

Congratulations are in order for the Seymour Tsunami 10U fast pitch softball team! Their 5-0 win over the Bloomington Lightning allows them to advance to the 10U World Series of Fast Pitch in Orlando, Florida, beginning July 25th.
