As some of you may know, the popular cash-for-clunkers vehicle program ends today.   However, all is not lost as Business Week reports that a new, federal stimulus program will soon be offering rebates of $50 to $200 for “high-efficiency household appliances.”  The appliances must be covered by the Energy Star seal to apply.  But, unlike the cash-for-clunkers requirement, you do not have to trade in your old appliances in order to receive the rebate.

Congratulations to Caitlin Nicole Mills, Jackson County’s 2009 Junior Miss. Caitlin is a Seymour High School student with plans to attend Olivet Nazarene College upon graduation.
The 2005 winner, Katie Stam, went on to become Miss America.
We wish Caitlin the best of luck in the State Junior Miss competition.

Immanuel Lutheran Church will host DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids from 7 to 8:30 pm on Wednesdays at Immanuel Lutheran School with a new cycle beginning August 26. Participants should enter the school through the main entrance near the parking lot facing the church. Participants may join the groups at any time during the 13-week series; pre-registration is not required. Childcare is available on request.
